Stay positive young woman, your time is coming.
Let me tell you, this year is kicking off to be one of the most challenging years for me personally. I started the year off with creating a few goals and working on my walk of faith with Jesus. And let me tell you, it has been rough. I say this because my pastor once said that when you decide to put down your old ways and pick up your cross to walk with Jesus, the devil tests you even more. And I’ve noticed.
Let me rewind a little. Last year I was in a season of transition. I quit my job after two years, stopped blogging consistently, moved across the country and started a new job in a new state. There were some struggles to even get to where I am today. But, as I reflect on last year and the tests I faced, I realize that they were only given to me by God to prepare me for what’s to come. This is where I have to remind myself to keep staying positive and have faith.
If you watched my 2019 goals video, you know that right now I’m working to find yet another job. My current job does not offer the flexibility or schedule I need to be the best me. This job hunt definitely has not been easy. I’m a TV news producer. That has been my title since I graduated college in 2015. So, while those skills can transfer to practically any job, not all employers see it that way.
I have prayed daily, fasted, and still have not figured out what it is God wants from me. But I’m not letting that discourage me. Because in the midst of my frustration and confusion, He has blessed me with some opportunities with my blog and YouTube that I never imagined I would have. That’s I why I hold on to my faith and put positive vibes out into the universe, because each step of the way has revealed one small part of the bigger blessing I’m waiting for.
Honestly, the whole job thing has been the most frustrating. I wish I could just quit all together and content create full time for myself. But I’m not giving up. Because again, being positive in situations you want out of, is key to being more successful in the future. God gives us each test to us so that when we come out of it, we have a testimony on how we were able to conquer all our fears and goals.
I’m saying all of this to tell you not to get discouraged. There are reasons why God has told you no to things you thought you would get. It is so easy to be discouraged, depressed, and unmotivated. I can’t tell you how many times I just wanted to give up. But that’s when I hear God telling me to hold on because my time is coming. My blessing is coming.
If you are feeling as if nothing is working for you, pray about it. Even if nothing happens, I can guarantee that your blessing is on its way. Pick your head up and remember to stay positive, motivated, faithful and humble. All things will work out for you in the end if you just hold on.
